Braveheart Capes

Additional Info

  • Article summary:

Bravery can only come from having something to be brave about.

Braveheart Capes

Our children have it harder than most. It’s tough being ‘special’, and far too often our kids are reminded of what they are not good at, where they need to work harder in order to catch up or keep up. Sometimes it gets scary for our children, with doctor’s appointments, talking about diagnosis’, having operations and needing special treatments. It can also be painful, not only a leg-full-of-pins-painful but the kind of sore that cuts through to your heart. It sure is a lot for a child to deal with!

Braveheart Capes remind children of their own super-powers, of their talents and gifts that are already inside them. We hope our capes give every child that wears one the courage to be themselves in a world that tells them to be somebody else. Each time they face that fear they gain strength, courage and confidence in who they are and how they do things. We have also made a range of capes for your child’s favourite toy. A child with his teddy together in matching capes are invincible.

“When children pretend, they’re using their imaginations to move beyond the bounds of reality. A stick can be a magic wand. A sock can be a puppet. A small child can be a superhero.” Fred Rogers

The Braveheart Capes are two-toned, the inside of the cape is a different colour to the outside, with the Braveheart logo silkscreened on the outside in silver. Our Capes come in the following range of colours: Green and Blue / Red and yellow / Pink and Yellow / Blue and Red / Red and Pink.

The empowerment of young women through this project

An important aspect of our capes, is the making of them. With the purchase of every cape, you support and empower women of South Africa. Braveheart works with a group of young mothers in developing their skills and using their craft to support themselves and their families.
